I was seriously blown away by the beauty, artistry and imagination of Thomas Dambo’s three giant sculptures he created at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. Dambo used all recycled wood from the region and demonstrated that trash and waste can be valuable resources, and Dambo hopes they will inspire people to not only recycle, but to also think more deeply about the impact our lifestyle choices have on the planet. Thomas also wanted to do his giants in a place of nature that would attract people to get outside and for children to spark imagination.

I loved getting the opportunity to photograph GE Appliances, Haier’s field trip to highlight a sustainability education sponsorship and present Bernheim with a $30,000 check to support the amazing work they are doing for our community. Way to go GE!!!!

The three Forest Giants are a family of a mother, son and daughter. Located throughout the Arboretum, the family is expected to “live” at Bernheim for at least 3 years. The Giants brought in 8,000 visitors to Bernheim last weekend alone last weekend. Go see them and bring your kiddos!!

We got the amazing opportunity to photograph International Women’s Day with the Women’s Network at GE Appliances last week. The afternoon was filled with inspiring and insightful guest speakers talking about their career journey in this industry. I walked away inspired by what all women can achieve while still having a family, obligations and successful careers.
