Edison Engineers: Celebrating Life Beyond Work

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) at GE Appliances, a Haier company, and I’ve had the privilege of documenting this incredible program through corporate photography here in Louisville, Kentucky.

In Part 1, we highlighted the innovation, dedication, and engineering talent that drives this program forward as Engineers and lifelong learners. For Part 2, we’re focusing on something just as important—their lives outside of engineering.

Showcasing the Whole Person Through Corporate Photography

Michael Ekbundit’s vision for this project was to capture Edison engineers not only as brilliant problem-solvers but also as individuals with passions, hobbies, and interests that fuel their creativity and help them become well rounded individuals in and outside of their careers.

Through photography, we’ve had the chance to highlight Edison engineers as:

These portraits and lifestyle images show that innovation doesn’t just happen in the lab—it’s also shaped by the joy, creativity, and balance found outside of work.

Building Community and Lifelong Friendships

One of the most inspiring aspects of the Edison Program is the community it fosters. These young professionals are not only building successful careers at GE Appliances but also forming friendships and networks that last a lifetime.

We all know that happiness outside of work contributes to success in a career path. By showcasing both professional excellence and personal passions, this photography gives us a glimpse into what truly fuels these talented young engineers.

Proud to Celebrate 50 Years of Edison

As Louisville continues to be home to this legacy of innovation, I’m honored to play a role in telling the story of Edison engineers—both in the workplace and beyond it. The Edison Program’s 50th anniversary is a milestone worth celebrating, and through photography, we can preserve these stories for years to come.
