Kaitlin & Nathan’s Kentucky Farm wedding on Long Ridge Farm in Shelbyville was nothing short of a perfect southern wedding. It included bluegrass, barns, bourbon, horses, stylish men and charming women. Its doesn’t get much better than this in Kentucky! One of my favorite parts were the Grandma’s walking down the aisle as the flower girls!
How they Met ~ Nathan was Kaitlin’s personal trainer. On Christmas Day in 2011, Nathan sent a simple “Merry Christmas” text to Kaitlin. From there they began texting and Nathan finally asked her on a date. After discussing with her mom and sister, “Should I go on a date with my personal trainer?!” They of course, said yes and Kaitlin agreed. A few days later they grabbed dinner at The Grape Leaf where they talked for hours and ended the night with a game of pool and laughter. January 11th, 2012 Nathan sang Kaitlin the lyrics to “Check Yes or No” by George Strait to ask her to be his girlfriend, and well the rest is history.
A tradition at Long Ridge Farm is to bury a bourbon bottle on the site one month before the wedding day in hopes of good weather. Did it ever work for Kaitlin and Nathan! They were expecting hurricane winds and storms all week and instead we got a glorious day and stunning sunset! It was also entertaining to watch Nathan dig up a bottle with his bare hands and in his wedding suit! The things you do for bourbon in Kentucky!!
