Katie and Dan had a Kentucky Farm Wedding on October 10, 2015 at Walnut Way Farms. Katie Dan were a dream to work with and Walnut Way Farms is just a wedding fairytale! The wedding included, horses, bourbon, barns, bluegrass, soul food and southern charm!

Dan proposed to Katie at Christmas in 2014 and placed the ring on the Christmas tree. He told Katie he had a new ornament for her to check out and she noticed the “bling” on the tree right away. “When I turned around he was down on one knee! And of course, I said yes!” said Katie.

It wasn’t long after that Katie and her mother were having delightful meetings with me going over the wedding photography and engagement session ideas. Katie is such a genuine, sweet, and thoughtful person. Her visions and taste for how the wedding day should go created a laid-back, romantic, rustic and enchanting night for all her guests.

“For me, my favorite part is a collage of all the little moments: getting ready with my mom, sister, and my girls; a cherished moment with my mom getting my “somethings” which included an “old” locket belonging to my great grandmother from my great grandpa which my mom wore to her rehearsal dinner in 1978; a “new” 2015 calendar dish towel to remind me of the amazing year leading up to this day; a “borrowed” wedding quilt; and a “blue” monogrammed linen from my grandmothers wedding shower in 1944; the pearls and note from Dan that made us all cry; riding up to the barn with Rachel in a very surreal moment before it the big moment; the soreness I felt in my cheeks from smiling so big when I first locked eyes with Dan at the end of the aisle; the smell of the fresh farm air and old barn as I walked down the aisle; and the ease to which the rest of the night had…. The love of family and friends resonates so clearly when I think of that day! Pure joy and a feeling of walking on air! I’ll never forget the feeling that everything had fallen in place.” ~

Katie’s wedding experience in her own words…just lovely. I am beyond honored that she choose us to document those memories and feelings she had on her wedding day. I will miss the meetings her mother and I had!
