Dana & Doug’s Louisville Wedding was on September 13, 2015 at Hummingbird Hill. We were beyond honored they chose Kylene’s Photography to document the most special day of their lives. The location was enchanting and sentimental since it was Dana’s mothers home, which couldn’t have been more perfect for these two.
They met 10 years ago in Lexington working at Bearno’s Pizza. Dana moved to Charleston for a few years and after years of moving around the two settled in Nashville to start their lives together. “After years of being a part, we knew each other was who we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with. We knew we wanted to get married, but it never seemed the right time.” Said Dana.
“It’s hard to say what made me fall in love with Doug exactly – but I know why our relationship works. We have so much fun together! We are silly and we make each other laugh. We also both really value our independence and we work hard to support one another. If one has a life goal – wants to move to a new city or go back to school – the other supports it 100 percent. We both bring out the best in each other and compliment each other. We both value fun, creativity and loyalty above all else. Being creative together is our greatest pride (for example: we’ve made a kick ass Christmas music video and a romance novel save-the-date). Life is much more fun together.”
It was truly an honor photographing this awesome couples wedding. I had amazing help from the talented Jessica Ebelhar second shooting with me and got to see many familiar faces from previous weddings in Louisville. I certainly didn’t have any problem getting fun & silly shoots from this crew!! We also go to work with the talented Kristen Kidwell from Don’t Forget the Flowers. She put beautiful arrangements in vintage vases that Dana’s mother has collected through the years and it looked incredible!
