We were honored to be a part of this Romantic Kentucky Wedding of Kristin and Joel. I actually worked at the Courier-Journal with Kristin’s dad, Arza Barnett for years and the highest compliment you can get is when a fellow photographer recommends you for a job, especially one with the responsibility of shooting their daughter’s wedding. That means that he trusted and admired my work enough to create memories of his own family that would last a lifetime.
Needless to say, Kristin and I hit it off immediately and she was such a sweet, genuine and beautiful young woman to work with! The wedding was personal and intimate, with the ceremony taking place at the couples dear friends home, Sandy and Mark Holloway. They were gracious hosts, allowing over 100 guests to take over their stunning property to celebrate.
“One of my favorite moments from our wedding is standing in front of everyone we love and saying the vows we wrote to each other. It truly was one of the most magical moments of my life to have our families, friends, and all the significant people who shaped us into the people we are surrounding us with their love and support as we promised ourselves to each other. Another favorite is when we walked down the aisle as husband and wife, turned and looked at each other and said, “We did it!!!” It was such a cool feeling having something we had worked on together (Joel helped me with planning (and doing) every step of the way) come together after months of hard work. At that moment we felt like such a great team, like we could accomplish anything as long as we were together.” said Kristin about the wedding day.
Big thanks to my second shooter, Dustin Alton Strupp for always being on his A-game and letting kids eat his arm when needed! He was quite the kid wrangler at this wedding! Congrats to Kristin and Joel! We loved being a part of your celebration!!
